Batter UP!

Saturday April 9th, 2011 Saw the Troopers from Garrison Carida celebrating opening day for the Little League of Chichester, PA. This was a great event for a number of reasons.

We have participated in this event in the past which makes a return trip extra special as we get to see old friends again. This year’s event also saw the debut of Garrison Carida’s very own Little League team. The Tampa Bay Rays, Sponsored by Garrison Carida!

Our Garrison is very proud to be the very first Garrison in the entire 501st Legion to have sponsored a little League team, and we are very grateful to Lucasfilm for allowing us to do this, as well as use our logo for the uniforms. They look great, and the kids who wear them LOVE them, but so do the kids who have to play against them too. We were told there was quite a competition amongst the teams for the Garrison’s sponsorship.

Darth Vader threw out the first pitch to start the season and reportedly threw a perfect strike. Never underestimate the power of the Dark Side! Our troopers posed for pics and played on the jungle gym, and even danced a little. A day that will long be remembered

Our troopers will even find time to work on perfecting our costumes at an Armor Party which is kind of a work shop for our members, and our perspective members to work on their costumes old and new. We also eat and have fun in addition to all the work.

May 7th will be one of the busiest days of the year for Garrison Carida as we celebrate Free Comic Book day with appearances at six different comic book stores across Pennsylvania and Delaware

Our troopers will be at several other events that day as well across all three of our territories. Check out our event calendar to see where we will be and come see us. We always look forward to meeting our fans and supporters

West Virginia Special Olympics March 26, 2011

Our West Virginia Troopers once again did Carida proud representing the Garrison at the West Virginia Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament in Morgantown West Virginia on March 26th, 2011. This event was the second day of the Tournament which was held at Student Recreation Center on the campus of West Virginia University.

Our troopers were even featured in a local newspaper which was covering the event, and from the words of the reporter covering the story, the athletes really appreciated our members efforts and presence at the Tournament. The Event’s organizer was even quoted as saying that he would bring us back every year he could. Awesome stuff troopers! Keep up the good work. You ALL make Carida Proud!!

West Virginia Character Breakfast

On March 12th, 2011 Garrison Carida was represented by our dedicated troopers from West Virginia at the annual Character Breakfast in Huntington West Virginia. A couple of members of the Ohio Garrison stopped by to enjoy the food and festivities as well which we greatly appreciated, as did the fans!!

One of our newest recruits, as well as one from the Ohio Garrison, who are still working on their costumes even got a chance to Squire their first event and performed brilliantly!! Get those suits done cadets!! Hopefully seeing this event will motivate you to “get ‘er done” Squiring is so much fun, but nothing compares to Trooping.

One Snowtrooper made the mistake of sneaking the last pancake and cookie monster missed out on breakfast! Next time let the muppet win….
